In 2010, I was diagnosed with bowel cancer – my first thought was  – Oh shit – not everyone saw the humour in that but in the moment – it wasn’t about them it was about me. At the time I was in a job working with people I enjoyed being around. I did not enjoy the office politics and the stress this caused. I did not have the tools to manage the stress and felt trapped by the need to bring in a steady income to pay the bills.

This was a wake up call for me and when I got through treatment, I recognised that I had created disease in myself through not listening to my body and my need for things other than financial security.

I believe if we do not take the time and energy we need and take breaks from what society and family expect from us (and that we expect from ourselves), we are forced into taking enforced breaks such as hospital stays or recovery time at home.

My passion now is to work with women to recognise signs that they are not in alignment and guide them to a more fulfilling and exhilarating life – however that may look for them.
